Andy was a constant help to me whilst we introduced the B class lifeboat to Sunderland. He wasn't interested in politics - just doing the right thing for the right reasons. I used to take the mickey out of him about his 'degree' choice - he was driven, and good humoured, and achieved everything he set his mind to.
